STILBAAI NEWS - The first handcrafted fynbos Gin made in South Africa at Inverroche distillery, located just outside Stilbaai where they offer an unique and fascinating experience for visitors.
They hold several gin tastings and distillery tours daily and introduce visitors to three elegant fynbos gins made according to traditional recipes with the additional infusion of aromatic and piquant fynbos botanicals which adds to their complexity and unique taste.
The classic flavours of citrus, spices and juniper berry are present, but top and undertones of fynbos add to and compliment the character of the spirit. The recipes took three years to perfect. Packed in elegant French glass, they are double or triple distilled in a 1 000 litre custom-made copper potstill in small vintage batches of 250 bottles.
There are three in the range: Gin Classic, Gin Verdant and Gin Amber.
Fynbos is the major type of vegetation from a very small botanical region known as the Cape Floral Kingdom. Only five other floral kingdoms are recognised and four cover huge areas such as all of Australia.
The Cape Floral Kingdom is both the smallest and richest floral kingdom on earth. At Inverroche they infuse their gins with rare botanicals which grow nowhere else on the planet.
